Rev. Fr.Poothicote Kuruvila Kunju Thommen, a priest
of the Niranam church who lead the Syrian Orthodox Church as the chief
supporter of Malakara Metropolitan Dianacius I during a very perilous
situation in Kerala history during the latter half of the 18th century
is another great luminary of the period.
Judge Grandpa Kochitty Kuruvila, the great patriach of Poothicote family stands out without comparison in our family's history.
Cherian Puthen Purackel who carried the legacy of his illustrious father, Judge Grandpa, was great personality of the period.
Kujachonda Medayil, the 5th son of Judge Grandpa was
one of the first Keralites to receive English Education from the
British teachers. He was a deeply devoted Christian and his life was
exemplary.
Kuruviala Varkey, Manalil, a grandson of Judge
Grandpa was one of the first BA graduates in Kerala and he rose to
become the registration director of the government. He was highly
respected by Maha Raja and loved by the people.
E. John Philipose and E. John Jacob of Elanjickel
were great-grandsons of Judge Grandpa. Both of them were highly
respected political leaders in Kerala and both of them were cabinet
ministers in government.

After Judge Grandpa Kochitty Kuruvila, The Very
Reverend Cherian Thomas is the most famous personality in history of
the Poothicote family. He was the grandson of Judge Grandpa and the son
of Cherian Puthen Purackel.
